How much does a wedding photographer cost in Lancashire?

It’s usually one of the first questions couples ask, and it can be surprisingly hard to get a straight answer. So here’s mine.

Prices for wedding photographers in Lancashire vary a lot, depending on experience, how much of the day is covered, and what’s included. My own collections start at £1,150 and go up to £2,150, and that’s a good starting point for what you’ll get at each level.

What you get for your money

  • The Highlights, £1,150: ceremony through to the wedding breakfast, including group shots and couple portraits.
  • The Full Story, £1,595: full-day coverage from morning prep to the first dance, with a free engagement shoot.
  • The Complete Day, £2,150: the whole day into the evening celebrations, plus a handcrafted album.

Every collection includes travel, a private online gallery and fully edited images within four to six weeks. You can see the full details on the packages page.

Why the price varies so much

A wedding photographer’s fee covers far more than the hours on the day. It also covers:

  • Editing, which usually takes much longer than the wedding itself
  • Professional cameras, lenses and backup equipment
  • Travel, and getting to know your venue and plans
  • Your online gallery, and keeping your images safe
  • Experience: knowing where to be, and staying calm when plans change

What to check before you book

Two quotes can look similar and include very different things, so it’s worth asking:

  • How many hours of coverage are included, and when does it start and finish?
  • Is travel included, and how far?
  • Do you get the full-resolution images and permission to print them?
  • How long until your gallery arrives?
  • Is there a written contract?

How to decide how much coverage you need

Think about which parts of the day you’d be sad not to have photos of. If it’s the ceremony and the group shots, a shorter collection might be all you need. If you’d love the getting-ready moments and the first dance too, that’s when full-day coverage makes sense. It’s the option most of my couples choose.
